You take the frequency and cut it in half, that's what you will see displayed in the PC. The Ram is DDR, Double Data Rate. Right after I installed it the other day task manager reported a maximum speed of 4ghz just like its supposed to. What you want to do is either enable XMP in your BIOS or manually set your memory's speed (Simple task in most BIOS).
