How is this possible, since the electronic configuration of A l 3 + is [ 1 s 2, 2 s 2 2 p 6] whereas that of L i X + is [ 1 s 2]? N a X + and C a X + have thus similar radii as well but, when one more electron is removed from C a X +, making it C a X 2 +, its effective nuclear charge increases, which will make its radius decrease.
